CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- There was no threat to a charter school in Center City Philadelphia on Monday after an earlier scare.

The principal of the World Communications Charter School said in a statement that it all began on Tuesday night after a student texted a teacher about a possible threat.

Police were contacted, principal Alexis Greaves said, and officers were there as students arrive on Wednesday morning.

Each student was searched before entering the building.

Greaves ended the statement by asking all parents to talk to their children about the 'pluses and minuses of social media.'
