BRICK TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- An Ocean County doctor has been charged with harassment after authorities say he inappropriately touched a female patient.

53-year-old Dr. Alfred Parchment of Toms River was arrested Tuesday, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and Brick Township Police Department.

Officials say Parchment inappropriately touched a female patient following the conclusion of her medical examination at Brick Women's Physicians, Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Parchment was released on a summons to appear in Brick Municipal Court on a future date.

The New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners has been notified of the charge.
