Officer injured in East Falls police pursuit

EAST FALLS (WPVI) -- A police officer was injured during a foot pursuit Monday morning in East Falls.

The incident happened around 9:30 a.m. on the 2800 block of Midvale Avenue.

Preliminary information states that police tried pull over a suspect who then fled on foot.

The officer began to pursue on foot and injured his hand while apprehending the suspect.

The officer's injuries appear to be minor.

There is no word on why the suspect ran from the vehicle in the first place.
