GLEN MILLS, Pa. (WPVI) -- Officials say a fire that broke out inside a dorm room at Cheyney University was set intentionally.

It happened around 6:30 a.m. Sunday at the school on the 700 block of Cheyney Road in Glen Mills.

Authorities say a group of unknown people went to the 5th floor of Tubman Hall and attempted to set a student's belongings on fire.

The fire activated a water flow alarm and set off the dorm room's water sprinklers.

The fire was contained to one room. Officials say the room's occupant was not present at the time.

All of the students inside the building were evacuated.

A Cheyney University officer was transported to Crozer Hospital of evaluation after complaining of chest pains and smoke inhalation.

The incident is under investigation.
