PECO worker killed trying to restore power in Delco

RADNOR TWP., Pa. -- A long term PECO linesman was killed Wednesday morning when he came into contact with high tension wires in Radnor Twp., Delaware County.

It happened along the 700 block of Berwood Road shortly after 5 a.m.

Officials say the 62-year-old man appeared to have died accidentally while trying to restore power to that area.

Police officers responded to the area after a report of a power outage and saw the PECO truck with its bucket extended.

Bryn Mawr Fire Company and Radnor Fire ambulance also responded to the scene.

PECO officials confirmed the death of victim who worked for PECO for 31 years.

They are also working with local and regulatory agencies as it pertains to the investigation.

The victim's name has not been released.
