Woman in wheelchair struck and killed in Lawrence Township

Police say a 57-year-old woman in a wheelchair was struck and killed by a vehicle in Lawrence Township., New Jersey.

The incident happened around 8:00 p.m. Friday nigh at Brunswick and Texas Avenue.

Officers say Andrea D'Agostino was being wheeled across the street by a female friend when she was fatally struck.

D'Agostino's unidentified friend was taken to Princeton Medical Center and treated for a fractured hip and pelvis.

The striking car was a silver Honda Accord driven by a 63-year-old man from Morrisville, Pennsylvania, police say.

Paramedics treated the driver in the car for a minor injury at the scene.

Police have not released his name.

Investigators are looking for a witness to the accident.
