An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Newark, Delaware.

NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Newark, Delaware.

The Action Cam was near the Amtrak lines just north of Harmony Road just before 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials say a northbound commuter train struck a pedestrian that was on the tracks.

The victim, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Service in the area was temporarily suspended. It has since resumed.
