Pedestrian seriously injured in Bear crash
Delaware State Police are investigating a crash in New Castle County involving a pedestrian.

BEAR, Del. (WPVI) -- Delaware State Police are investigating a crash in New Castle County involving a pedestrian.

It happened at approximately 8:09 p.m. on eastbound US Rt. 40 (Pulaski Highway) just east of DE Rt. 72 (Wrangle Hill Road)in Bear.

Police say a man was struck as he tried to cross the highway.

The man was taken to Christiana Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene.

The crash shut down the eastbound lanes of Route 40 near Route 72.
