Pedestrian killed by Amtrak train in Marcus Hook
A pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Delaware County.

MARCUS HOOK, Pa. (WPVI) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Delaware County.

The deadly accident occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Marcus Hook train station along 12th Street in Marcus Hook.

Police say the female pedestrian was struck by a southbound #92 Amtrak train.

The female was taken to Crozer Chester Medical Center where she died from her injuries.

Amtrak says the train originated in New York and was destined for Florida.

There were no injuries to anyone on the train.

Passengers traveling along SEPTA's Wilmington/Newark Regional Rail Line experienced delays of up to one hour due to the investigation.

Police are also trying to determine if the accident is any way related to a physical altercation that occurred just prior to the crash a couple blocks away.
