A man was struck and killed by a SEPTA train in Lawncrest.

LAWNCREST (WPVI) -- A person was struck and killed by a SEPTA train in the Lanwcrest section of Philadelphia.

The accident occurred shortly before 7:00 p.m. Tuesday on the 5800 block of Weymouth Street.

Police say a male stepped into the path of a northbound septa train.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Service was suspended along SEPTA's Fox Chase Line due to the investigation.
