A person jumped from a burning Northeast Philadelphia home.

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- At least one person jumped from a burning home in Northeast Philadelphia Sunday morning.

The fire broke out around 5:30 a.m. Sunday on the 1300 block of Elbridge Street.

Crews were met with heavy flames shooting from the first floor of the residence.

Officials say one person jumped from the second floor to safety.

Four people, including the person who jumped, were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

Crews were able to get the upper hand on the fire and bring it under control around 5:55 a.m.

The fire marshal's office is investigating.
