OLNEY (WPVI) -- A fugitive wanted by Philadelphia police is a person of interest in two separate murders last week, including the killing of a pregnant woman.

It all began around 4:00 p.m. on September 3rd along the 4200 block of North Broad Street.

Police say 25-year-old Markese Martin was one of three suspects involved in a deadly robbery at Broad and Hunting Park near a Popeye's Chicken restaurant.

The victim, 42-year-old Kenneth Woods, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Within a few days, police arrested 20-year-old Megan Jones of Blue Bell, Pa. and 26-year-old Kord Rozier of Philadelphia, but Martin remains on the loose.

Hours after the first shooting, around 1:00 a.m. Sunday, detectives believe Martin may have tried to kill Rozier, his alleged accomplice in the first murder.

Rozier was shot inside a car at 20th and Nedro streets, alongside his 8-months-pregnant fiancee, 25-year-old Jasmine Williams.

Williams was shot in the head, arm and both legs. Rozier was hit in the back and leg.

Officers rushed both of them to Einstein Medical Center, where Williams was pronounced dead.

Doctors did an emergency delivery of a baby girl and worked for an hour to try to save the infant, but in the end she did not survive.

Investigators believe the motive was that Martin wanted to eliminate potential witnesses when Rozier considered turning himself in for the first murder.

There is a $40,000 reward to catch Martin.

Anyone with information on Markese Martin's whereabouts, should contact the Homicide Fugitive Squad at 215-686-3068, 215-686-3334 or call 911.
