PATCO's 8th and Market Street station has reopened after a person was struck by a train Monday morning.

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- PATCO's 8th and Market Street station has reopened after a person was struck by a train Monday morning.

The incident happened before 9:00 a.m. Monday at the station, located in Center City Philadelphia.

There was no immediate word on the victim's condition or the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The PATCO high speed line was shut down as medics responded to the scene and authorities investigated.

As of 9:30 a.m. PATCO was reporting on its website that service had been restored, but that trains were running on an 'emergency schedule' every 26 minutes, and would be bypassing the 8th and Market station.

The station was reported back open by about 10:30 a.m.
