PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia man has been arrested in the murder of his 2-year-old son.

Police were called to the 1600 block of North 57th Street around 1:10 p.m. Friday for the report of a person screaming.

Upon their arrival, officers were met by Bass who said he was playing video games when he heard a thump sound and realized that his son had fallen down the steps.

Bass said he noticed his son was unresponsive and performed CPR until the police arrived.

The cause of death was ruled as blunt trunk extremity trauma to the body.
