Police: $8K stolen from woman's purse in Old City

Philadelphia police are trying to track down two thieves who stole more than $8,000 dollars out of a woman's purse in Old City.

OLD CITY (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are trying to track down two thieves who stole more than $8,000 dollars out of a woman's purse in Old City.

According to police, the female suspects approached a 56-year-old woman near Reading Terminal Market back on September 28 after she'd made a withdrawal from an ATM at the Asian Bank at 9th and Arch Streets.

The suspects started talking to the woman and one asked to see her handbag.

Later, the victim checked her purse and realized $8,200 dollars in cash was gone.

The first suspect is described as an Asian female wearing a flowered scarf on her shoulders.

The second suspect is described as an Asian female wearing a jean jacket and black pants.
