JACKSON Co., Fla. (WPVI) -- Three people were arrested in Florida after a bizarre incident involving, police say, a-drug induced imaginary hostage situation.

ABC station WMBB-TV reports the incident began on August 24th in Jackson County after a 911 call from a newspaper delivery person, who saw three people yelling for help from the second floor of a home.

The three said they had been shot and were being held hostage, police said.

Officers arrived but the trio refused to come out, fearing their attackers might be in the bottom floor of the house.

Police managed to contact the three, who said they had been attacked and a woman there said she had been stabbed and the knife was broken off in her stomach.

The three allegedly claimed they were injured while fighting off their attackers.

Police began to investigate, and say they found no attackers were ever there and the woman claiming a stab wound only had a 'superficial scratch.'

The sheriff's department said they searched the home to find a 'shake and bake' meth lab.

The department concluded that the three were hallucinating and armed themselves with a 12-gauge shotgun and a .22 caliber rifle. Dozens of rounds of ammunition were also found, police said.

Numerous windows were shot out, police said, and holes were shot into the wall. They three also allegedly removed a large rear window and threw a sink at their imaginary attackers - and also tossed the toilet.

The three suspects arrested were 30-year-old Matthew McDaniel, 21-year-old Damien Hines and 18-year-old Madison Star Douglas.

All three were charged with Possession of Methamphetamines, Attempt to Manufacture Methamphetamines, Felony Criminal Mischief and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
