CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police have given the all clear after a suspicious device prompted the evacuation of some businesses in Center City Friday night.
Authorities responded shortly before 11 p.m. to the intersection of 11th and Locust streets.
Police cordoned off both pedestrian and road traffic in the 3 block area around the scene while they investigated.
The Philadelphia police bomb squad was called to the scene, and it didn't take long to determine the object in question was harmless.
Some businesses were told to shelter in place while a few others were evacuated as a precaution.
SEPTA had rerouted nearby bus routes while emergency vehicles were on the scene.
No one was injured in the incident.
