Police chase ends with gunfire, death in Easton

EASTON, Pa. -- A police chase ended with police gunfire and at least one death early Friday in the Lehigh Valley.
It began at 2:00 a.m. Friday when police from Palmer Township began chasing a pickup truck through several communities.
The chase ended with a violent crash at North 13th Street near Spring Garden Street in Easton.
Action News has confirmed that at least one of the officers fired a weapon, and the coroner has been called to the scene.
There have been no reports of injuries to any of the officers.
There was no immediate word what led to the initial pursuit, or if the death being reported was due to the crash or the police-involved shooting.
