Police: Delco man raped 7-year-old, had child porn

ASTON, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Delaware County man is accused raping a 7-year-old and being in possession of child pornography.

The suspect is identified as Matthew Maffei, 41, of Aston Township.

Investigators say it began with a report of a possible sex assault of a girl in Middletown, Delaware. Maffei was arrested following that investigation

After his arrest, Pennsylvania authorities conducted a search warrant at Maffei's home. After a search, he was charged with 225 child pornography counts.

He is being held in the Delaware County prison on $250,000 cash bond. He is also awaiting extradition to Delaware for charges in Middletown.
