Police: Gunman robs Wawa in Hatfield Township

HATFIELD TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Police in Montgomery County are investigating an armed robbery at a Wawa convenience store.

The robbery occurred just after 4:00 a.m. Sunday at the Wawa located on the 2400 block of Bethlehem Pike in Hatfield Township.

Police say the suspect obtained a cup of coffee and a container of milk. He walked to the register where he asked for a carton of cigarettes.

As the cashier was ringing up the sale, police say the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded the cash from the register.

After obtaining the money, police say the suspect fled the store with the cash and merchandise towards a dark colored vehicle which was parked along the southbound shoulder of Bethlehem Pike with its hazards lights on.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, early to mid-30s, approximately 5'5 to 5'8 tall, wearing a black short sleeve shirt, dark colored cargo style pants, black knit cap, black footwear, and a silver watch on his left wrist.
