Police impersonator allegedly flashed handgun in Camden store

CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- Camden County Police need your help identifying a police impersonator.

Investigators have released video of an incident that occurred around 7:00 p.m. this past Wednesday at the New York Mini Market on Kaighns Avenue in Camden.

The impersonator allegedly asked to purchase a ski mask, while telling the clerk he was an undercover police officer.

He pulled up his shirt to reveal an undershirt with the word "police" written on the front.

He also had a handgun in his waistband.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a Navy blue #40 Chicago Bears football jersey with orange stripes on the arms and the name "SAYERS" written on the back.

Police say the suspect is known to frequent the area of Thurman and Newport streets.
