Police: Man in wheelchair steals donation money in South Philly Wawa

Police say a man who entered a Wawa store in a wheelchair, stole money from a donation jar in South Philadelphia early Saturday morning.

The incident happened around 4:20 a.m. at the Wawa store on the 1600 block of Christopher Columbus Boulevard.

According to police, the suspect was in a wheelchair when he snatched money from the donation jar on the counter.

He then jumped out of the wheelchair and ran out of the store.

There's no estimate on how much money was in the jar.

Police say they apprehended a suspect a few blocks away from the robbery.
