Police say a man was stabbed multiple times during a family argument in West Philadelphia.

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say a man was stabbed multiple times during a family argument in West Philadelphia.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the 6200 block of Haverford Avenue.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was stabbed in the back and shoulder.

He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in critical condition.

Police say a person of interest was taken into custody and a weapon was recovered at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
