Police are searching for a gunman who wore a Halloween mask when they say, he shot a man in Philadelphia's Frankford section early Saturday morning.

The shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. on the 1300 block of Wakeling Street.

A 23-year-old man was shot while visiting a friend.

He told police that an unidentified Hispanic male approached him and said, "You ring the bell yet?"

The man says he told the suspect no and that's when the suspect fired a shot at him and fled on foot.

He was struck in the chest and fell to the ground.

About a minute later, the victim's friend opened the door and found him.

She told police that she heard 1-2 gunshots but did not see anyone when she opened the door.

The victim was taken to Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.

Investigators told Action News that the suspect was an Hispanic male, 5'5' tall and thin build. He wore a red Halloween mask and black hooded sweatshirt and armed with silver handgun.

So far, there are no arrests.
