NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police opened fire on a man who allegedly pointed a shotgun at officers in North Philadelphia early Friday morning.

The incident happened just before 1:00 a.m. at the intersection of North 22nd Street and West Indiana Avenue.

Police were responding to the area after a report of a man with a gun.

They arrived and identified themselves to the suspect.

Police say the suspect then allegedly pointed a gun at them.

They fired one shot but the man was not hit.

He then ran into a nearby bar, leading officers to this discovery:

"When they entered the bar, they found the suspect's clothing inside the restroom of the bar. They found the hooded sweatshirt he was wearing along with his sneakers," said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Police say they quickly found and arrested the shoeless suspect.

The officers were not injured.

The incident happened just blocks away from the shootout that killed Ofc. Robert Wilson III.
