Police: Phoenixville man sold elephant tranquilizer to addict. Rick Williams reports during Action News at 12:30 p.m. on July 19, 2017.

PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Phoenixville man is being held on $1-million cash bail after investigators say he sold the elephant tranquilizer "carfentanil" to an addict who overdosed.

It's the first time carfentanil has been reported in Chester County.

Twenty-year-old Damon Eskridge was arrested after a drug sting following the overdose of a 34-year-old man.

The victim overdosed inside a home in Phoenixville on July 4th.

Carfentanil is 10,000 times more powerful than heroin, and its effects are often not able to be reversed by Narcan.
