Police responded to George Washington High School in Philadelphia's Somerton section after an incident at the school Wednesday morning.

SOMERTON (WPVI) -- Police responded to George Washington High School in Philadelphia's Somerton section after an incident at the school Wednesday morning.

It was shortly after 10:30 a.m. when police were called to the school, located 10175 Buslteton Avenue.

According to a school district spokesperson, there were two incidents that occurred at the school.

Around 9 a.m. two girls got into a loud argument in a stairwell that caused a big bottleneck in the stairwell. But that dispute was quickly cleared.

Then around 10:30 a.m. about 200 students starting roaming the hallways, which raised suspicion for school staff.

Resource officers quickly placed the school on lockdown and got the students back inside their classrooms.

The lockdown was lifted around 11:30 and an all clear was given.

Despite initial reports, officials tell us there were no physical altercations at the school and no one was injured.

At the same time police responded to the school, a girl was removed from the building on a stretcher and taken to an awaiting ambulance. Police say she suffered from a medical emergency and was in no way involved in the fight.
