Police: Suspect tried to run over officer on bicycle in Kensington

KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are looking for the driver of a stolen vehicle they say tried to run over a bike cop in Kensington.

It happened around 9:45 p.m. Sunday on the 1800 block of East Russell Street.

Police say the suspect continued southbound on Ontario Street before ditching the car near Melvale Street, a block south of Richmond Street in Port Richmond.

The officer was knocked off his bike, but was not injured.

The suspect remains at large.
