Police are searching for the gunman who invaded a home and robbed Temple University students late Tuesday night.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are searching for two men who invaded a home and robbed Temple University students of drugs and cash late Tuesday night.

The incident happened around 10:00 p.m. on the 1500 block of North 13th Street in North Philadelphia.

The victims say they were returning home when they were approached by one suspect.

They quickly entered their home, but the suspect pushed his way in.

Police say the suspect pulled pulled a semi-automatic handgun from his sweatshirt pocket and had the victims lie on the floor.

He then asked, "where the person with the money?"

The victims called the name of their roommate that has the ground floor bedroom.

When he opened the bedroom door, the armed suspect entered the room and ordered the victims, all in their early 20s, into the bedroom.

While he held them at gunpoint, police say a second suspect entered the bedroom and asked, 'Where is the money?"

The suspects were instructed by the armed suspect to open a safe that was located in the bedroom.

After taking approximately a quarter pound of marijuana and $5,000, the suspects fled the residence throw the back door.

Temple police and security put out an alert to the students on campus.

The armed suspect is described as a black male, early to mid 20s, wearing black hoodie and pants, black skull cap and wearing gloves, armed with a semi-automatic handgun.

The second suspect is described as a black male, early to mid 20s, dark complexion, short cropped black hair, wearing a gray hoodie and gloves.

There was no immediate word on any drug charges for the students who were robbed.
