Police: Woman beaten to death in Tioga-Nicetown

TIOGA-NICETOWN (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police have a suspect in custody in a murder in Tioga-Nicetown.

The incident happened just before 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the 3700 block of North 18th Street.

Police said a 52-year-old woman was badly beaten inside a boarding house.

She was rushed to Temple University Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said the 54-year-old male suspect knew the victim.

The incident is under investigation.
