NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A pregnant woman is recovering from a gunshot wound she suffered during a home invasion in North Philadelphia.

Police say it happened at 3 a.m. Wednesday while two young children were in the house with her.

Action News is told two or three men broke into the residence on the 3000 block of North Front Street.

The 25-year-old woman, her boyfriend and two children, ages three and six, were all sleeping there.

The armed men got into a confrontation with the adults, and police say one of the men opened fire.

The woman was shot in the thigh.

No one else was hurt.

Detectives are putting together a description of the intruders.
