Prisoner escapes from Philadelphia hospital

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are searching for a prisoner who escaped from Episcopal Hospital.

Police say the prisoner, identified as 24-year-old Hassan Mikell, was last seen in the hospital at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Mikell is described as a black male, 5'8, 175 pounds, with a beard and a tear drop tattoo on his face. He was wearing all black and a black Timerland boots.

He has a GPS ankle monitor.

Police say the male fled from Kintok Halfway House employees while at the hospital.

Mikell's last known address was on the 1900 block of Carpenter Street.
