Prosecutors: Husband fatally shot wife, self in Ventnor

Police are investigating the deaths of a man and woman found inside a home in Ventnor City, Atlantic County.

VENTNOR, N.J. (WPVI) -- Authorities say a New Jersey man fatally shot his wife and then himself in their home.

Atlantic County Prosecutor Diane Ruberton said Friday that 59-year-old Marianne Wilson-Allen and 60-year-old Richard Allen were found dead in their home in Ventnor on Wednesday.

Ventnor police had responded to the home for a well-being check. A handwritten sign on a paper taped to the front of the house read "Call 911."

The victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
