Tractor trailer overturns on WB I-76 near Roosevelt Boulevard

WYNNEFIELD HEIGHTS (WPVI) -- A tractor trailer overturned on the westbound Schuylkill Expressway overnight, blocking exit ramps from I-76 West to City Avenue, and from the Roosevelt Boulevard South to I-76 West and City Avenue.

The accident happened before 1:00 a.m. Friday in Wynnefield Heights.

Police say the truck was carrying a load of eggs when it crashed, landing on its side and blocking part of the expressway.

The driver was taken to Temple University Hospital to be evaluated.

There was no immediate word on that person's condition or what led to the crash.

Crews spent hours working to upright the truck and clean up the mess.

All ramps were cleared and back open to traffic by 6:30 a.m.
