A resident was burned in a house fire in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood.

GERMANTOWN (WPVI) -- A resident was burned in a house fire in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood.

The fire started after 3:45 a.m. Wednesday on the 200 block of Zeralda Street.

Heavy flames were showing when firefighters arrived.

The victim made his way to the roof and climbed down, making it to safety.

He was rushed to Temple University Hospital by a private auto.

He is listed in serious but stable condition.

No word on what caused the fire.
