Gas main break in Chester prompts evacuation

CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- A gas main break that prompted some evacuations in Chester, Pa. has been repaired.

Crews responded Monday to the 100 block of Morton Street.

A PECO spokesperson says a construction contractor that was working in the area struck a 2-inch natural gas main.

PECO received a call about the ruptured line at 10:21 a.m. and had a crew on scene at 10:49 a.m.

All repairs were complete by 1:30 p.m., the utility said.
