A school bus driver went to the hospital after crashing into a pole.

TIOGA-NICETOWN (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are investigating a crash of a school bus on the Roosevelt Boulevard Extension.

The accident was reported just before 1:30 Friday afternoon on the extension near Wissahickon Avenue in the city's Tioga-Nicetown section.

According to authorities, the driver suffered burns from wires on the bus, which then caused him to lose control of the bus.

The bus then swerved and struck a pole.

There were 23 high school students on the bus, but none were hurt.

The driver was taken to Temple University Hospital with second degree burns to his legs.
