Shooting leaves man critically wounded in North Philadelphia

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say a man was critically wounded after being shot in North Philadelphia early Thursday morning.

The incident occurred around midnight at North 17th and West Schiller Streets.

Officers responded to the scene when several 911 calls came in about the shooting.

They found the victim wounded and took him to a nearby hospital.

The victim's name has not been released.

Police are trying to figure out who shot the man, and why.
