Authorities say shots were fired during a Wells Fargo bank robbery in Pottstown, Montgomery County.

POTTSTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- Authorities say shots were fired during a Wells Fargo bank robbery in Pottstown, Montgomery County.

It happened around 9:15 Saturday morning at the branch on the 1400 block of East High Street.

Police say the suspect walked inside, displayed a .38 semi-automatic pistol, made verbal threats and demanded money.

At some point, the suspect fired several shots at the ceiling and the bulletproof divider that protects the tellers.

No one was injured.

The suspect eventually fled the bank empty-handed.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20-30 years of age, approximately 6'0" tall and 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored baseball cap with contrasting trim and the letter 'P' on the front, dark-colored clothing, and gloves.
