Police say shots were fired from a car on the westbound Passyunk Avenue Bridge in South Philadelphia early Thursday morning.

Police say shots were fired from a car on the westbound Passyunk Avenue Bridge in South Philadelphia early Thursday morning.

The incident happened just before 5:00 a.m. along the 3100 block of Passyunk Avenue.

A security guard at the nearby Sunoco Refinery reported hearing the gunfire, police say.

Officers arrived to find 10 shell casings on the bridge.

They are searching for the driver in an unidentified car who fired the shots.

They are checking surveillance video to get a description of the vehicle involved.

The bridge was closed temporarily as officers searched for evidence.

There were no reports of any injuries.
