Flames soared into the sky when a public works salt shed caught fire.

WASHINGTON TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- Flames soared into the sky when a public works salt shed caught fire Thursday afternoon in Washington Township, Gloucester County.

It was around 5:15 p.m. when approximately 50 firefighters responded to the scene on McClure Drive, by the Washington Township Police Administration Building.

No injuries have been reported.

The American Red Cross South Jersey Chapter was requested to provide canteen services for fire crews.

What may have sparked the fire remains unclear at this time.
