Sparks fly during deli burglary in Germantown

Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect who burglarized a deli in the city's Germantown section.

GERMANTOWN (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect who burglarized a deli in the city's Germantown section.

It happened January 11 inside the A&L Deli on the unit block of West Queen Lane.

Surveillance video shows the male suspect forcing open a basement door just before 3 a.m.

Once inside, he steals the entire cash register from the wall, sending sparks flying from the electrical outlet.

He also took over $300 in cigarettes before escaping back through the same basement door.

The suspect is described as a 30-40 year-old light complected male with a goatee. He was wearing a dark colored knit hat, dark colored jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt, light colored pants and black sneakers.
