PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Supporters of convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal carried signs and a new demand on Tuesday.
Protesters gathered in front of the Philadelphia DA's office, calling for adequate medical care for Abu-Jamal, who was treated last month for complications from diabetes.
They were also asking for the release of his medical records to his attorneys.
They say he is being denied basic care, a claim prison officials deny.
A new photo of the now 60-year-old has been made available. Abu-Jamal looks noticeably older and frail.
Abu-Jamal is a former Black Panther serving life in prison for the 1981 murder of white Philadelphia Officer Daniel Faulkner.
His conviction was upheld through years of appeals, but he has gained international support for his claim that he's the victim of a racist justice system.
