WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Police responded to the scene of a crash that sent an SUV into a front porch in Wilmington, Delaware.
It happened on North Clayton Street near Lancaster Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday.
Police were chasing the driver of the SUV that crashed. When the chase became high-speed, police say officers quickly called it off.
A few blocks later, the driver of the SUV lost control, flipped over, jumped the curb and smashed into the front porch of a house.
The impact caused a gas line to break, causing an evacuation of several homes as a precaution.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Wilmington Hospital for treatment.
No word on why police were chasing the suspect in the first place.
