WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police have identified the suspect sought in a shooting that left a man paralyzed in West Philadelphia.

23-year-old Allan Stokes of the 5700 block of Harmer Street in Philadelphia is facing charges of attempted murder, assault and other offenses.

Police say Stokes shot 49-year-old Edward Lynn 6 times after Lynn happened to brush up against Stokes in a small corner store back on August 29th.

The shooting in the 5000 block of Haverford Avenue left Lynn paralyzed from the waist down.

Lynn's husband, a police dispatcher, said her husband was simply going to get a sandwich when the incident happened.

Earlier reports said Stokes was taken into custody on Saturday, however, those reports were erroneous and he remains on the loose.
