UPPER MERION TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Police have identified the suspect charged after a home invasion and police chase in Upper Merion, Montgomery County.

He has been identified at Keith Darrin Morrison, who faces a number of charges including robbery, kidnapping and burglary.

It happened Tuesday morning at a home near the intersection of Trinity and Holstein Roads.

Upper Merion Police say Morrison broke into the home, grabbed a shotgun from the owner, tied up the man's wife then kidnapped the husband.

He then allegedly stole the couple's car and drove the husband to a Wawa to withdraw cash.

The woman was able to break free inside the home and call police.

Officers spotted the couple's vehicle at a SEPTA lot one block from the victim's home on the 100 block of Holstein Road.

A vehicle pursuit ensued.

Police say Morrison ditched the vehicle at a business on South Gulph Road, then ran across the highway, jumped a sound wall and was eventually captured at about 9:00 a.m. in the Bob White neighborhood of Upper Merion.

Neighbors told Action News on Tuesday they had trouble grasping the home invasion.

"Makes me feel sick inside, sick" said neighbor Patricia Whigham.

"I understand that he is okay," said neighbor Larry Persofsky. "His wife, fiance, is okay, and I'm glad to hear that."

Persofsky lives across the street from the victims. Police gathered his surveillance system to build the case against the suspect.

"I still think this is a wealthy, safe neighborhood," he told Action News. "I'm just really concerned about my neighbor and how he's doing."

Police say both husband and wife are doing fine. Neither was injured.
