Suspect in custody after carjacking, crash in Philadelphia

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A suspect is in custody after a carjacking in Center City that culminated in a three-vehicle crash in South Philadelphia.

The theft happened shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday along the unit block of South Broad Street.

Police say a late model Audi A5 was taken.

Officers pursued the vehicle southbound along Broad Street until it crashed at Carpenter.

One person was taken into custody.

There was no word on any injuries.
