BELLEFONTE, Del. (WPVI) -- New Castle County police have released more information into a police-involved shooting that left one man dead.

Police say around 2 p.m. Wednesday, detectives located 21-year-old Keith Price driving a green Honda Civic in Wilmington.

Suspect killed by police after confrontation in Delaware. Christie Ileto reports during Action News at 11 p.m. on April 19.

Police say Price was wanted in an attempted murder from April 9.

According to police, officers attempted to stop Price in the area of 24th and Market streets.

The officers exited their vehicles and gave Price commands in an attempt to arrest him.

Police say Price refused to comply with officers' commands and instead drove his vehicle towards the officers. That is when one of the officers fired at Price.

Police say Price continued to ignore commands and crashed his vehicle into a police vehicle before driving from the scene.

A chase ensued.

It ended, police say, when Price crashed his car into other vehicles on Philadelphia Pike at Washington Street Extension.

An investigation into a possible shooting has led police to a church parking lot in Wilmington.

Price then fled from his car on foot to the south side of St. Helena's Church with an officer in foot pursuit.

Police say Price ran and concealed himself in large bushes next to the church.

As the officer pursued, police say Price reappeared and pointed a handgun at the officer. The officer then fired a gun, striking Price.

Police say Price was provided emergency medical attention and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The handgun was recovered from Price at the scene.

Police say the two officers involved, an 18-year member and a 3-year member of the Division of Police, were taken to an area hospital for treatment. Both officers were treated and released from the hospital Wednesday night. Both officers were placed on paid administrative leave while the investigations are conducted, as per division policy.

Separate investigations are currently being conducted by the New Castle County Police Criminal Investigation Unit, the New Castle County Police Professional Standards Unit and the Delaware Department of Justice Office of Civil Rights and Public Trust.
