Suspect sought in attempted burglary in North Philadelphia

Philadelphia police are looking for a suspect wanted for attempted burglary in North Philadelphia.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are looking for a suspect who attempted to burglarize a check cashing store in the city's Franklinville section.

The incident happened on December 6 inside the Ace Check Cashing store located on the 3700 block of North Broad Street.

The burglar was caught on surveillance breaking into the store through a rear wall shortly before 6 p.m.

He can be seen crouching down and running throughout the store, trying to pull open various locked cabinets.

The suspect left empty-handed and fled in an unknown direction.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 30 to 40 years-old with a medium complexion and beard. He was wearing a blue knit cap, camouflage jacket, gray sweatpants, gray sneakers, and was carrying a black duffel bag.
