Suspect sought in Family Dollar robbery in Cobbs Creek

COBBS CREEK (WPVI) -- Police are searching for the suspect wanted in a Family Dollar store robbery in Philadelphia's Cobb's Creek section.

The robbery happened on June 2nd around 8:30 a.m. at 5701 Walnut Street.

Authorities say the unidentified suspect entered the store and approached the counter as if he were going to purchase an item.

They say when the 48-year-old male cashier opened the register, the suspect pulled a gun.

He then jumped over the counter and forced the cashier to remove an unknown amount of cash.

Police say before the suspect fled, he robbed a 70-year-old male customer of $20.

There were no injuries reported.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20-years-of age, 5'10" tall and 150 pounds.

He is thin build with a mustache and goatee. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, grey sweat pants with a red stain on the rear left calf, and black patent leather Puma sneakers.
